The 2009 NASA National Championships were held for the first time at Miller Motorsports Park located in Tooele, Utah near Salt Lake City. A small field of only six SpecE30s were on hand for the event as opposed to the field of 20+ cars in attendence at Mid Ohio the previous year. The long tow to Utah prevented many east coast and souther region SE30 racers from attending this year's event. The field consisted of returning 2007 & 2008 National Champion Chris Cobetto from Montpelier, VA, Steve Ferrario from San Luis Obispo, CA, Brad McClure from Campbell, CA, Scott Neville from Sacramento, CA, Stephen DeVinney from Atlanta GA and Victor Beraja from Las Vegas, NV.
